- Our long time client in Englewood (SW Denver) is in immediate need of an experience and accomplished SAP Manger to mange their SAP environment. This is a more functional role and primary skills and experience we’re seeking are those in project and people management, specifically in an SAP environment. Projects impact all modules (MM, PP, SD, FI, CO). They have about 400 users in the US running SAP ECC 6.0
SAP Manager
Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology, the SAP Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the SAP Systems at the north American HQ of this global manufacturer. This includes, but is not limited to, managing the SAP Project Portfolio, working closely with business owners to build relationships and identify new project opportunities, actively managing SAP projects, and managing a team of SAP resources. Provide leadership as well as hands on experience for identifying, designing, and implementing “best practice” business processes using SAP. Position requires frequent interaction and communication with headquarters in Germany. German language skills and international work experience a plus, but not required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage the SAP application for Karcher including owning and prioritizing the SAP project portfolio across all brands and locations.
- Effectively manage the German relationship for SAP needs.
- Drive business process improvement and measurable business value.
- Drive business and IT alignment and strong communication/partnership.
- Define and communicate project plans and status to executive management.
- Manage SAP development team staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and motivation.
- Act as lead project manager on multiple projects to implement SAP functionality for our North American business units.
- Responsible for requirements gathering, project planning, project execution, testing, and production support.
- Resolve SAP help desk requests and manage overall helpdesk ticket process for SAP team.
- Act as liaison between SAP IT Team, North American business user community, and headquarters team in Germany.
- Work with team to support EDI transaction flow into and out of SAP
- Minimal travel may be required (~10%) to support projects at our North American sites outside of Denver.
- Provides leadership and mentoring to SAP team members.
- Completes assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner with minimum direction.
- Performs other related duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years experience working in an SAP environment in an IT role (not end user), with preferably at least one full-life cycle implementation.
- Solid knowledge of SAP order to cash processes and functionality.
- Familiarity with integration points across SAP modules (MM, FI/CO, PP, etc.).
- 4+ years of Project Management experience in an ERP/Packaged software environment, preferably in a project or team leader role.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle required.
- Experienced working with users to gather business requirements and translate them to system features and functionality. Ability to clearly and concisely document requirements and test cases in a functional design document.
- Experience working with off-shore/near-shore development teams. Experience working with European companies and/or in Europe a plus. German language skills a plus but not required.
- Able to work independently given high-level tasks and goals.
- Ability to compile a project plan and milestones and drive project results, removing roadblocks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and ability to research problems and pull the right people together to resolve issues quickly.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal communication skills.
